OFC is a collective made up of two different farms, and several farmers. The farms are Glorious Organics Co-op and Friesen Farm.
Both farms are located in Aldergrove, BC and are about 10 kms. apart. At the Farmers Markets (Trout Lake, Kitsilano, and White Rock) you can find fresh, organic produce from these two farms, at the OFC tent.
Glorious Organics Co-op
Sometimes shortened to Glorious, or simply Glo, this is the business name of the co-op that employs members and workers – who in turn are the people that grow the food that makes its way to the markets, restaurants, and into the CSA boxes. About a 1o-12 full and part-time staff work on the farm each season. We grow dozens of produce crops, some fruit, and we also have a small flock of laying hens, for egg production.
Drop us a line on email or give us a call to arrange a time to come and visit the farm, where you can get fresh, organic produce, book a tour, take a stroll through the fields, and stay for a picnic. It’s a great way to spend some quality time, slowing down, and connecting to the land and the dirt.
Fraser Common Farm Co-op
Fraser Common is the land, the physical space, to which we are connected. Fraser Common is the home of Glorious Organics, of many of the Glorious farmers, and to several others who are not directly connected to the farm operations. That said, everyone that lives at Fraser Common has farming in their blood – directly or indirectly. As a housing co-op, Fraser Common is home to many people – including a resident woodworker and a blacksmith – and many others.
Hopefully this page helps make sense of it all – Glorious Organics, OFC, and Fraser Common – if you have any questions about any of this stuff (or anything else) drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org. Hope to hear from and see you soon!
